What is Detox Massage Treatment?

A combination of therapeutic  massage and  detoxification methods. Your skin is your biggest organ and one of it’s major processes is to detoxify by releasing environmental toxins, and other chemicals not  required by the body. 

Relaxation Massage

Massage stimulates the circulation of blood, lymph and energy,  helping to move toxins through the skin as well as other elimination areas including the liver and kidneys. Massage relaxes your muscles helping to decrease anxiety and promote rest and recovery of your nervous system. 

Organic Essential Oils

We use a combination of grapefruit and lemon essential oils, to assist the skin’s process of detoxification and vetiver to help the nervous system unwind and relax.

Grapefruit stimulates the lymphatic system is an antiseptic and diuretic. It has a cleansing action on the kidneys, liver, stimulates bile secretion and is balancing for the digestive system.

Lemon  is astringent and stimulates the immune and lymphatic systems, aiding detoxification through the skin. Lemon oil improves digestion, lifts the spirit and creates a positive mindset.

Vetiver is a sedative essential oil helping to calm the body’s nervous system which supports the regular process of detoxification. Vetiver regulates hormones, aids menopause symptoms, calms anxiety, depression and strengthens the immune system. It is a lovely oil to ensure a great deep sleep.

Organic Clay

Organic Sodium Bentonite clay packs are placed over the  kidneys for  20 minutes. This will activate detoxification by the drawing action of the clay. Bentonite clay is negatively charged attracting and binding toxins. The clay swells like a highly porous sponge when mixed with water. Toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction, and once there, they are bound into the clay.

Hot Towels

The heat from the towels is used to stimulate energy flow at the beginning of the massage, to restore moisture after your clay pack and centering  you at the end of the treatment.
